The market capacity for digitisers has been shrinking for almost two decades, putting a squeeze on manufacturers the world over. Some have survived, others diversified into new markets and others, sadly, closed their doors.
Having sold many hundreds of large format digitisers over our two decades in business, allowed us to second guess some of the manufacturing changes and prepare ourselves, and our clients, to the changing nature of peripherals supply to the market by building stock of soon to be obsolete units and prepare our in-house team for maintenance of impossible-to-get spares.
Thankfully GTCO is still in production, along with CalComp and Summagraphics who now fall under the same banner, collectively known as GTCO CalComp. A good supply of spares for these units remain available and as a dealer we can help you with these if you require. Buying new still remains more cost effective than repair, however, other brands and manufacturers have fallen by the wayside and our expertise is focused on Numonics Accugrid and TDS Quora digitisers being the other major brands in the large format field.
For those urgent projects, we can even accommodate a same day repair (UK), meaning, if it leaves you door on time and gets to our engineering bench the next day, before 12 noon, we can have it back to you repaired, cleaned and tested the following day before 1pm!
And to top things off, we still hold TDS and Numonics stock of controller boards and high quality switch mode transformers (power supply units).

Numonics Full Rebuild Clean, test, full disassembly, repair, rebuild, clean and test. In a full rebuild the conductive mat is cleaned, cables are unsoldered and trimmed (as they are prone to breaking at the reinforcement boot), PCB surfaces are cleaned of carbon residue and resistors replaced if required. If the coil head is broken or coil wires snapped, we are unable to repair the device. If the perspex nose or reticule is cracked, we can make bonding repairs to prolong the life of the device. Please note: these units were designed to be disposable commodities and as such not engineered to be serviced. Disassembly by others will result in a broken unit. 30 day warranty. |

Numonics Cable Replacement A major failing of any puck is the cable, and the Numonics brand suffered badly with one of its last designs. We have secured a supply (from Numonics before they ceased trading) of replacement reinforced cables. We point clients towards a full rebuild to ensure longevity of the repair, as many older pucks have substantial skin oil deposits contaminating the PCB contacts, however a quicker cable replacement is sometimes all a client wants. Clean, test, partial disassembly, replace cable, rebuild, clean and test. Please note, we can only offer this service for MkIV units (round cable connector). |
